A well-written philosophy paper should meet the following goals:
- have a clearly stated thesis (conclusion) you will argue for
- have clearly stated reasons (premises) that will establish your conclusion
- have a clearly stated version of the problem you are addressing
- have clarified any terms and justified your premises
- have considered objections to your arguments
- have established your conclusion through careful reasoning
