College is very different from high school and other types of educational experiences. You will need to learn new skills and techniques to get the most out of the college experience. This chapter will show you how to approach college with a positive attitude, build concentration, analyze how you learn, and improve your reading comprehension. Three different types of questionnaires are included to help you analyze your reading habits, your ability to concentrate, and your learning style. The learning styles inventory assesses your strengths as a learner on five components: (1) auditory or visual, (2) applied or conceptual, (3) spatial or verbal, (4) social or independent, (5) creative or pragmatic.
