Exercise 3

We hear the expression “global community” all the time. But I am not sure that most people have really stopped to examine the enormity of just what this expression means. Take the expression apart and first you have global, referring to everyone on the planet or globe from every continent, country, state, city, county and so on. Second, you have community, meaning a small group of people who are all connected in some way. Amazingly that is who we have become. Between the telephone, the Internet, and our postal and delivery systems, we are, or at least can be, all connected in some way. Amazing, but true. Miles too great to imagine separate us, but inventions so simple that even a child can use them bind us together.
