Journal of Bacteriology
In addition to free access to the current issue of this journal published by the American Society of Microbiology (ASM), this Web site provides access to all publications of the organization. It also contains detailed "Guidelines for Reviewers" (that may be useful in discussions of peer review and/or ethics).
Journal of Heredity
Articles require subscriber log-in, but there is free access to a sample issue and links to other journals published by Oxford University Press ( Behavioral Ecology, Mutagenesis, Journal of Experimental Botany, Plant and Cell Physiology, Journal of PlanktonResearch, and Human Molecular Genetics), each with a link to a free sample issue.
Phytopathology
Although log-in is required to access articles, the Instructions to Authors contain very detailed information about the appropriateness of content of the manuscript to different parts/foci of the journal, criteria used in reviewing manuscripts, and the use of scientific nomenclature in any one article.
