Welcome to the Instructor Resources section of the Companion Website specifically designed to accompany The Allyn and Bacon Guide to Writing, 3/e. Here you will find a sample syllabus for a 15-week composition course that that meets twice weekly and requires students to produce five "finished" essays, including a researched proposal argument, all of which they submit in the form of a portfolio. In addition to the syllabus itself, there are annotations explaining the rationales behind some aspects of the syllabus or the sequence of assignments. You will also find an overview of resources for each of the major parts of the text. Finally, you will find a list of general resources, and an annotated list of Web sites on teaching and research, including electronic journals, discussion lists, and professional organizations.
