Critical Thinking and Writing
Objectives
|
This chapter builds on the assumptions and skills of Chapter 1, by describing critical writing as a natural development from critical reading. In this chapter, you will learn to work with the four basic forms of academic writing: summary, evaluation, analysis, and synthesis. For each kind of writing presented in this chapter, you are given model paragraphs to study, and then you are presented with many opportunities to practice the effective use of these basic kinds of responses.
