In this chapter, you will review the nature and functions of adjectives and adverbs. Through examples and exercises, you will learn how to make choices appropriate for the standards of formal written English. You will review and practice making appropriate distinctions between “good” and “well,” “bad” and “badly,” and other troublesome pairs of words. You will then put these skills to work in the editing or correction of sentences.
