You really should be applying for summer jobs, internships, or scholarships right now. Honest. Find several job listings, internship possibilities, or scholarships for which you could apply. Read the listings or application instructions, and develop a statement of purpose and design plan for each. Get feedback on these from someone in your schools Career Center, Job Placement Office, or Dean of Students Office, or ask your teacher for recommendations for people who could give you knowledgeable feedback. Then apply.
Pick one of the following scenarios and develop three different statements of purpose and design plans for it. In one statement of purpose and design plan, be very conservative, and in one be as outrageous as you can; make the third somewhere in the middle. Take what you think are the best and potentially most effective features of each, and combine them into one statement of purpose and design plan. What from this process might be useful to you in the future?
