Design and produce an instruction set on how to belong to an organization. Have you ever joined a new organization and on your first day felt as though you didnt know what was going on? Do you remember what it felt like to come to college when it seemed everyone else knew each other and knew what was going on? Choose an organization to which you belonga church group, the skateboard club, a sorority or fraternity, a service organizationand develop an instruction set for someone joining the organization. As you are developing the instruction set, consider the following:
What are the steps a new person needs to know to join the organization?
What customs and habits of the organization did it take you a while to learn but that would help someone else more quickly feel at ease?
Pick a task that you find particularly unpleasant or hard: changing the cat box, doing your laundry, studying for an exam you worry you might fail, changing a diaper. Design and produce an instruction set for someone like youwho finds the task unpleasantso that the task might become more positive and enjoyable.
